This guide shows steps for unblocking common settings known for causing possible issues with uploads to DataHub.
We highly recommend following all of the steps below as the issues may not be directly related to a single cause.
Disable Windows Defender Firewall
1. On your main windows bar, type Firewall. Look for Windows Defender Firewall and select it by clicking it.
2. Once opened, a left menu will show up, select the "Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off" option.
3. Choose to "Turn off" the firewall for both private and public networks.
Warning: Disabling the firewall exposes your computer to potential security risks.
Check Proxy Settings:
1. For Google Chrome, which is the recommended browser for DataHub, go to the top right area in your browser and click on the 3 dots, then select Settings.
2. Select on the left menu System, and then select "Open your computer's proxy settings"
3. Check that "Use of a proxy server" is deactivated. If not, toggle it to Off.
Chrome Secure Connection Deactivation:
1. For Google Chrome, which is the recommended browser for DataHub, go to the top right area in your browser and click on the 3 dots, then select Settings.
2. Select on the left menu Privacy and Security, and then select "Security"
3. In Advanced, make sure "Always use secure connections" and "Encrypt the names of sites you visit" are deactivated. If not toggle them to Off.
Check Internet Connection:
- Ensure your internet connection is stable. Unstable connections will likely cause uploads to DataHub to fail especially for jobs that have high photo counts and file sizes.
Other things to check if the above steps didn't work:
Reset Google Chrome Settings:
- Open Chrome, go to Settings (three dots) > Reset Settings.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset Google Chrome settings.
Check Security Software:
- Ensure that your antivirus or security software is not blocking the websites.
- You can access the settings of the security software and add exceptions if necessary.
Update Browser:
- Ensure your browser is up-to-date. Outdated browsers may have security vulnerabilities.
Contact IT Support:
- If you are in a workplace or have IT support, consult them for assistance.
