Using a Local RTK Base Station with EVO3x

What are RINEX (local observation logs) and why do I need them?

RINEX logs, also known as local observations, are generated by survey equipment, such as the Trimble R10 or Topcon HiperV. These files, when combined with the RTK files from EVO3x, will create a highly accurate geoposition for each photo taken by the drone.

If the EVO3x is being flown outside of an RTK network, you will need to create a RINEX or Local Observation file in order for the EVO3x to create precision accuracy data.

Where can I get my RINEX (local observation) files?

Consult your survey equipment's manual on how to create observations and where to download them.

Please note: Observations must be .obs or .17o file formats

What do I need to upload to perform RTK post processing using local base observations?

In order to perform RTK post processing using static observation data collected from your local base,
we will require two things:

1. RINEX observations downloaded from the base.
2. The base station location with Z measured as absolute position of the L1 phase center of your base. (as shown in the below diagram)

Please Note: this a different point than the base of the antenna, you will be able to get this distance from your GNSS base manufacturer.
